Prior to which I ran my own consultancy in South Africa. For 30 years I was a Police officer retiring in 1995 at the rank of senior Superintendent. Before retiring I spent lengthy spells in South Africa as both an International Observer with a joint UN/EC mission, and as an advisor to the “Goldstone Commission”. AREAS OF PARTICULAR EXPERIENCE AND SKILL COURSES:Throughout my police career I attended many specialist policing and management courses including community development, multi agency and partnership working, crime reduction, IT, financial management, performance management and media skills courses. I was twice selected to attend highly prestigious national command courses at the Police Staff College, Bramshill including the year long, “fast track”, Special Course. I also successfully completed the promotion candidate assessors training course. Whilst employed by the British Red Cross I have attended various IT up-date courses and a course on problem analysis and planning. I successfully completed a Red Cross Overseas delegates initial training course. Managing about 500 volunteers supported by some twenty full and part time paid staff.
